Donald Lee Danley, 32, of 203 E. Pike Street, Attica, was killed early Thursday morning, June 19, 1969, in a one-car crash six miles east of Attica on Road 28. According to investigating officer Donnie Lee was en route west and left the pavement on the south side of the road and hit a tree in front of the James Cunningham residence. The accident is thought to have occurred sometime between 12 midnight and 3 a.m. and was reported by a passing truck driver. Investigating were State Officer Jerry Van Meter and Fountain County Coroner Robert Shelby. Mr. Danley was born in Crawfordsville March 25, 1936, the son of Elmer and Mary Johnson Danley. He was a graduate of Attica High School in 1955, and attended Indiana University at Bloomington three years. He served six months active duty in the U. S. Air Force in Texas and Cuba. He was presently a member of the Air Force Reserve. Mr. Danley had traveled for the McQuay-Norris auto parts firm of St. Louis, and had been assistant manager in the Indianapolis warehouse before becoming associated with the family's auto parts store in Attica, in 1962. He was a member of the Attica United Methodist Church, and the Jaycees. He is survived by his parents. Friends will be received after 5:30 p.m. Friday at the DeSutter Funeral Home in Attica. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Attica Methodist Church with Rev. Harold Bachert officiating. Burial will be in West Haven Cemetery in Lafayette.--waw
